Use the theory that you developed in week two. Improve it by using… Use the theory that you developed in week two.  Improve it by using the information you have obtained in the intervening weeks.  Use the Conceptual – Theoretical – Empirical Model (CTE) to link the operational definitions with the empirical indicators with the theoretical concepts and the conceptual model components.  Post your revised theory and explain how you would measure the concepts and proposition in a research study. In week two, I wrote about the correlation between physical and mental exhaustion secondary to burnout while in healthcare, especially in the emergency department (ED). We talked about the overwhelming problem in the emergency department due to the lack of staffing and congestion in the department. Although most hospitals are giving away incentives to encourage their staff to work extra time to fill in those understaffed lines, it seems like the nursing workforce is still struggling to survive every shift. These hospitals were previously short-staffed even before the pandemic, but now this current pandemic has made this thing worse. The feeling of burnout and exhaustion is getting quite extensive everywhere; people are quitting their jobs to find a more enticing or a higher paying job to compensate for their stress.       Much research has been done regarding figuring out how to manage the burnout of healthcare workers as this current pandemic surges in California. As stated by (Crook 2020), never-ending work, alongside the stress brought in by fear of the worker and their family’s safety, is taking a significant toll on them. The California Health Care Foundation conducted a survey back in September of 2020 that about two-thirds of medical health workers are feeling burnout due to their line of work. The continuous survey of the state in terms of this kind of problem will hopefully shine a light on everyone so we can all help solve or even alleviate this never-ending problem in the medical/healthcare field. Furthermore, as of (Aliferis 2020), an increase in those clients who are experiencing mental health problems is being seen by 91/100 providers. Burnout affects the work itself and the patients that we are taking care of. Ratios have been thrown out of the window; even ICU nurses in most hospitals take three patients now compared to their usual two.       Using telehealth, surveys, and communication from different agencies may be one of the few examples we can use to start achieving a goal to stop the constant understaffing problem in California’s healthcare. Meanwhile, due to our current state of the pandemic, the use of travel nurses is the quick fix for this undying issue. Then in the future, these big hospitals can work on more permanent solutions such as building more structures to accommodate more patients and, of course, hiring more permanent staff to run places.       To conclude, it is hard to say if there is a perfect answer to this problem, but at the same time, they can act according to what the situation will give them.  Reply needed to the above post.
