Sentinel City® Canada Clinical Activity D: Poverty and Health Promotion OverviewIndividual health and the health of a community are influenced by multiple factors especially when facing poverty. Students will gain an understanding of the relationship between this complex determinant of health and a population health issue. Students will develop primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention strategies to promote the health of citizens in Sentinel City® Canada and in collaboration with community partners.  Learning ObjectivesIdentify indicators of poverty from community assessment Develop an action or intervention that addresses the three levels of prevention in relation to a population health issue that impacts a specific population group Develop a 3-year plan to reduce a selected population health issue and promote health.Use current literature and data to provide rationale for interventions while recognizing health inequities. Small Group InstructionsReview the following resources:Lind, C. & Baptiste, L. Note indicators of high or low employment.
