If employees are allowed to voice their opinions on organizational structure orchanges, it will empower them to do more and cause them to feel like they are a part ofsomething bigger than themselves. For example, the Air Force has a program labeled Spark Tankthat enables employees to forge ideas that save the Department of the Air Force money. Theprogram has saved the Air Force time and money due to the ideas presented to uppermanagement across many different career fields. The spark tank initiative increased camaraderieand empowered members to do more within the confines of DOD stipulations.This optimal patient care will cause patients to spread the word of the new and improved hospitalthat provides great quality care resulting in an increased patient workload. This increase inworkload will bring more revenue to the facility and will maximize capabilities. This increased revenue enables healthcareorganizations to bring more capabilities to the table and improve patient care needs. Productivityis important to healthcare due to the improved and increased capabilities it has the potential tobring to facilities. For example, hospitals can build bigger facilities from the revenue gainedfrom quality care produced by productivity.Productivity, marketing strategies, and business strategies step in the right direction ensuringvision and mission statements are aligned to keep organizational improvements consistent.
