They suggested that providers could do something as simple as share things they have in common with patients and talk about themselves, and that would help patients feel comfortable. If the patient feels comfortable with their provider, then they are more likely to talk more about their health and this provides better outcomes. They also would like it if they were known by their provider instead of being seen as just another patient. Patients want their providers to know their history so they can know how to take care of them. (Altman et al., 2020).Another recommendation made by the women in this study includes continuity of care. Patients like to see the same providers consistently, especially when they have meaningful relationships with them. Once a provider has a relationship with a patient, they can easily recall their history and preferences. This isn’t possible when a patient is forced to see multiple providers in a short amount of time. Patients also don’t want to have to repeat their history at every visit.
