With the support offered to nurses, areas that lack proper health provision can be built up to healthier communities. More than 2 million people currently benefit from the nurse corp program in tribal areas, urban, and local regions. If accepted and a loan repayment request goes through, the nurse must commit service for at least two years in a health facility that needs a nurse. Through the loan repayment program, nurses can pay off parts of their student’s debt. For a two year commitment, 60% of a student’s debt is paid, and an additional year comes with another 25% of debt coverage (About nurse Corps, 2020).
