CLASSMATE POST #1
Hello class,
As I reflect back on where I started at the beginning of the course to now, I feel that I have met the outcomes with my work. I was initially excited to take this course because I would like to learn the correct medical terms and breakdown of the terms in case I take a trip to the hospital or decide to work in a hospital setting. Now looking at certain terms is easy, I can’t believe I didn’t realize what the words were referring to at first. For example, I had no idea what ‘nephritis’ (inflammation of the kidneys) meant when I initially read it. I had no idea of where to start other than googling the definition. Learning to break the words down into component parts, helped me a lot to learn what the words meant. Also, reading the information aloud helped me to match sure that I was defining the words correctly (especially while reviewing the medical reports) and using the words correctly in sentences. I really enjoyed this class and if there is a Medical Terminology II, I can’t wait to take it!

CLASSMATE POST #2
Hello Class
I have a better understanding of the body systems, their functions, the diseases/conditions, and procedures used so I feel that I have met the outcomes in my work of this course. Making flashcards to study daily and playing memory games with my family and friends has helped me retain most of the information we have covered in the class. The one thing that I am still having issues with is composing medical terms because there are some medical terms that have multiple meanings and it trips me up sometimes. This class has been great and I believe that the information will definitely be a viable tool for me and my career.

CLASSMATE POST #3
Cancer is- even though I don’t want to give it credit- the reason I started on a journey into the medical realm. I got into massage therapy because of cancer. Even though the end result of my current studies won’t have me in the front lines of dealing with the scourge, it’s something I always want to be informed about- someone will always have questions. It’s definitely one thing I will continue to study along with Parkinson’s.
I enjoyed expanding information about other topics we studied and reading about your lives and how things have impacted your way of living and how you’ve dealt with the challenges. Life stories always have an impact! As far as future studies, mine end next quarter. After that, I have instructed my friends to put poison in my tea if I ever consider school agin. I am getting too old for this. Ha! But I’m a life-learner. Everything I have learned will be useful in my career and in my everyday life.
Bueno suerte, y’all!

CLASSMATE POST #4
Hello fellow classmates,
I have enjoyed this semester immensely along with the seminars and discussion boards. I feel like everything I did in my power to achieve in this specific class I did. Learning more about genes and cancer was very interesting to me. I hope that in my future studies this class and its information helps me perform to the best of my abilities. I am trying to learn everything I can about being an executive director, that is why I am trying to get my bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration. I love the company I am with currently and they have helped me a lot with everything. I have currently been in the healthcare field for over eleven years, I absolutely love what I do. Taking care of the generation that cared for us as children is the very core to my compassion.
Good luck to everyone in your future classes!!
