Encourage the patient to follow the diet and avoid alcohol consumption or smoking.  Diet: Advice the patient to follow the low fat diet which is helps in treating or preventing pancreatitis. Teach the patient that the best food of pancreatitis are fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and nonfat/low fat dairy, and lean cuts of meat. Healthy fats such as avocado, olive oil, fatty fish, nuts, and seeds, may be consumed with careful portion control.
