Description
Carolyn is a 37-year-old woman who was diagnosed with depression and anxiety 2 years ago. Carolyn is quietly spoken, good eye contact and engages appropriately. No blunting of affect noted but she occasionally gets slightly teary when talking about how stressed she feels. Carolyn said she has always been an anxious person but it comes and goes in severity. Carolyn said she went on antidepressant medication 2 years ago for 9 months but she doesnt want to go on medication again and would prefer to find other treatments. Carolyn reports that 2 years ago she had several stressful events at the same time including two deaths of elderly family members during COVID, her father-in-law and grandfather, as well as a phobia about seeing blood which was impacting on her work as a physiotherapist. Carolyn said she feels overwhelmed on occasion and sometimes has thoughts of I cant cope. She said on a bad day she might think I wish I was dead but said she knows she doesnt really want this. Carolyn says she has no specific plan to harm herself or anyone else.
