Instructions
Neulingers Paradigm: Outline and Analysis of your Leisure and Work time
Step 1. Create the WAID (What am I doing?) Table (in MS Word or other Word Processing Software)
Using days of the week and appropriate time periods (during a five day period)
Step 2. Fill in columns and rows
With both leisure and work activities (free-time, work, classes, and other)
Step 3. Complete WAID
After you have experienced each activity, label each filled-in activity as: Pure Leisure, Leisure-Work, Leisure Job, Pure Work, Work Job, and Pure Job. (As described in the textbook)
Step 4. Compare your WAID with that of one of your classmates

Step 5. Make an Interpretation
In a 500 word paragraph (as an MS Word Document or other Word Processing Document)explain your understanding of Neulingers paradigm, your choice of activities, your labeling based on the paradigm, and the comparison with another students WAID.
Regarding sustainability: the discussion must present a critique of your use of energy (i.e. gas for travel, electricity for television), activities that require costs or purchasing something, and impact on the environment (waste, trash, recycling, etc.) and others (exploitation getting others to pay for you).
Step 6. Submit Two Files
The MS Word WAID table with filled in activities and Paradigm labels for the entire period as #1A,and,
The 500 word explanation from Step 3 as #1B.
Files should be named, respectively:
