In nursing, case studies allow for direct application, promote deep learning, and enhance clinical reasoning skills. As nurses, it is important to develop strong assessment and analysis skills to properly care for patients. Case studies are often on a patient or medical condition. Please refer to the course calendar to find the assigned case study. For example, you may be assigned a case study out of your nutrition text (page numbers will be found in the course calendar) or given a handout with a case study scenario on it. You will respond to the assigned case study by answering s and analyzing the patient. Make sure to think about your answers and be SPECIFIC and THOROUGH. Points will be deducted for work that not complete, or poorly written. Post a 3-paragraph written summary on your assigned case and the interventions you recommended with rationales, including a reference list in APA 7th ed. format to your group’s assigned Canvas Discussion area. Make sure that you follow the grading rubric.Part 2) All other students will then provide a well-constructed and substantiated response (substantiated responses require a reference as well as a response that moves the conversation forward and/or integrates an application of the primary posting) to all of the other Case Study Group Discussion submissions.Case Study #3 Osteoporosis  Directions: Osteoporosis: Page 118-119, 134-136 Read textbook BEFORE answering this case study. Calcium intake is essential, especially in postmenopausal years as bone mineralization is lost. Consuming calcium-containing foods will be beneficial for bone density. Since the patient is is not fond of milk or dairy products, some non-dairy options are bean burritos, bean soups, beans fortified with calcium, juices fortified with calcium, tofu, and soy milk or soy products fortified with calcium. Make sure to think about responses and make responses CONCISE.
