StrengthsLimitations The data collection method was thoroughly described and garnered extensive perspectives from nurses. Semi-structured interviews were used starting with “What does safe drug management mean to you?”. Further questions were based on prior responses deepening their understanding and encouraged nurses to speak freely & elicit further dialogue. This strengthens the quality of this article as it is clear about how they spoke to nurses and creates trust around the data collected, especially with how broad the issue of medication errors is. These semi structured interviews allowed them to talk freely on the topic while the researcher was still able to address all question areas (Woo, 2019). The Findings of the study captures the full meaning of the data with the use of quotes from the interviews to convey the nurses’ message. The connection between the three main risk factors for medication errors was shown through a graphic to outline how the various themes create a pattern leading to medication errors (see Figure 1). This is reflective of the General Data Analysis Spiral as they demonstrate “Representing and Visualizing the Data” where they note the patterns in the findings before interpretation (Creswell & Poth, 2018). This assures the reader that this article’s data has been analyzed appropriately to understand how medication errors occur and strengthens the article’s quality. The article is based in Sweden and its relevance to Canada is in question. With various differences in each country, the transferability of this study’s findings may not be as applicable to another setting or group, ex., Canadian nurses. Furthermore, the study does not mention the applicability of its findings to broader areas of nursing. This impacts the external validity of the findings (Woo, 2019). Though all hospitals suffer in the MTO Model, differences between the countries must be acknowledged before transferability is considered. The purpose of this study was to uncover the causes of medication errors in nursing homes through the eyes of the staff. Researchers did semistructured interviews with seven first-line registered nurses, RNs, and unlicensed staff (21 total) from seven Swedish nursing homes. Using the above, Please provide professional, meaningful, and constructive written feedback to include:Thoughtful and critical comments or questions on one strength AND one limitation of the comprehensive presentation given above.
